Why I’m Stepping Into Blogging: Finding Our Grounding in a Shifting World

ree

Stress rewires our bodies. But so does hope, connection, and grace.

The world around us feels like it’s moving faster every day. News changes by the hour, demands never seem to end, and the weight of chronic stress shows up in our minds, our bodies, and our relationships. If you’ve felt overwhelmed, irritable, or stretched too thin lately, you’re not alone.

For years, I’ve walked alongside women who carry the quiet exhaustion of being everything to everyone. I’ve also lived it myself—navigating family, leadership, and the pressure to show up strong when inside I was running on empty. Over time, I realized something important: in a world that’s constantly shifting, we need something that helps us stay grounded.

That’s why I’m beginning this blogging journey.

As a psychologist, I know how stress can rewire our nervous systems, disrupt relationships, and keep us stuck in cycles we never asked for. As a woman of faith, I know that scripture points us toward practices of renewal, rest, and honest connection with God and each other. This blog is a way for me to bring those two worlds together. My hope is that each post feels like a pause in the middle of your week—an invitation to breathe, reflect, and try something that can move you from overwhelm toward wholeness.

I’ll be walking us through the ROOTED framework, a six-pillar approach to stress reduction and well-being that blends psychology, faith, and cultural wisdom. Each pillar offers practical tools to shift how we handle life’s pressures. Over the next few weeks, we’ll begin with the Talk pillar. And let’s be real—the world feels noisy right now. Learning how to communicate honestly, openly, and with grace is more than a nice idea. It’s essential. Talking with God, talking with ourselves in healthier ways, and talking with others in safe spaces can transform stress into connection and resilience.

This blog is about more than sharing ideas. It’s about creating a community of reflection and connection. My hope is that you’ll not only read but also engage. Share your experiences, try out the practices, and notice what shifts for you. Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. We heal and grow in connection.

If you’ve been longing for a reset, or if you’ve felt the weight of stress pressing in, you’re in the right place. I invite you to journey with me as we explore ROOTED one step at a time.

And if you’d like a daily companion, my new ROOTED Devotional offers 90 days of scripture, reflection, and simple practices to keep you grounded. It’s designed for the very moments when life feels messy and overwhelming.

So here’s to beginnings. To finding sweetness in bitter places. To living connected. And to learning together how to stay rooted in a world that never stops shifting.

Be well!

Dr. Tina
